Otway Getaways - Terms and Conditions

By booking accommodation with Otway Getaways you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions outlined below.

Arrival is from 3pm and Departure is strictly by 10am.
Early Arrival and Late departure fees apply.

Payment Terms
No booking is confirmed until payment is successfully processed.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm all bookings.
The Final Payment is automatically deducted 5 days prior to arrival.
A $25 Service fee applies to all cancellations/booking amendments.
No refunds for early departures.
A $250 Pre-Authorisation Hold will be placed guests credit card (on day of arrival) as security for the booking. This is then automatically reversed 5-7 days after departure if there have been no issues found on departure. Please allow up to 7-14 days for this to appear on your credit card as times may depend on your banks processing time. If we are unable to process this payment we reserve the right to cancel your arrival at the property until payment is sorted.

Arrival Instructions will be emailed 4 days prior to arrival, after the final payment has been successfully charged.

Cancellation Policy
100% Refunded up to 60 days before arrival.
50% Refunded up to 30 days before arrival.
If entire booked period is rebooked then a Full Refund (minus Service Fee) will be given.
No refunds for early departures.
Travel Insurance is recommended for all bookings.

Otway Getaways take no responsibility for incorrect rates advertised on other sites and booking platforms as many of these sites pull information without our consent.

Extra guests ALL guests staying need to be advised and paid for prior to arrival or immediately if arriving mid-stay. We ask you advise us immediately if you have extra guests stay with you at the property, even if it is only for one night. All prices for your booking are based on the amount of guests staying at the property. All people sleeping in a bed are counted as a guest, this included children. Babies sleeping in their own cot are free of charge. Otway Getaways reserve the right to charge any additional guest charges to the credit card used for the booking in accordance to the Extra Guest charges for the property on our website.

No Party Policy There is a strict no-party and schoolies policy at all of our properties. Please consider your neighbours, keep noise down after 10pm and be mindful that the property is located in a residential area. Should we be advised or become aware of a party (in other words more than the guests booked at the property) held at your property you will be evicted immediately with no refund given. Any extra cleaning or damage costs as a result will be charged to you.

Dog Friendly Accommodation Policy
We warmly welcome dogs to most properties as part of your family but we ask that you respect the privilege of being able to bring them with you and consider others staying around you.
Whilst we don’t like listing rules and regulations they are necessary to ensure our accommodation is held to the highest pet friendly standard.
Dog owners are fully responsible for the behaviour of their dogs at all times.
No responsibility will be taken for dogs that cannot be contained within the property booked nor will the possibility of snakes at or near any accommodation, this is a rural area and snakes are part of the environment.
Other native animals may visit your accommodation and we ask you keep dogs away from them.
Some of our properties border farmland with stock. It is the owners responsibility to have their dogs under control and not near stock at all times. If dogs are caught chasing stock then you will be given one warning to control them and if they continue to not be controlled then you will be asked to leave the property immediately with no refund.
Our residential properties have tenants living next door, we ask this is considered with regards to barking dogs. If complaints are made about excessive barking and noise we reserve to ask you to leave the property with no refund. Guest are responsible for picking up ALL droppings, any damage caused and extra cleaning up after them inside as well.
A $50 charge applies for dog droppings not being picked up prior to departure.
A $50 also applies to dog hair/marks on furniture/linen and extra cleaning due to dirt, hair, mud etc. Wet/dirty dogs are not permitted inside, please wipe paws and ensure dogs are clean and dry before bringing them inside. Dogs are not permitted on any furniture/beds.
Dogs are not permitted in bedrooms additional charges apply for dog hair/muddy dog footprints/marks on beds/linen & furniture, dog urine stains, damage and droppings. Dogs are not to be left unattended inside at any time unless authorised by Otway Getaways.

Property Damage In the event that any property is damaged (maliciously or accidentally) beyond normal wear and tear; or in the event that property belonging to the accommodation owner is lost, damaged or taken during the course of booking, Otway Getaways reserves the right to charge to the credit card, or the method of payment used by the guest for the booking, the reasonable cost for repair or replacement of that property to the guest. This includes for example, cleaning up any excess sand, dirt, mud from floors; all dishes to be fully washed and dried and all items back in their original places; all furniture to be returned to its original place; spillages are cleaned and any serious stains are reported immediately.

All property are strictly NO SMOKING A fee of up to $750 applies to smoking inside. This charge covers the costs associated with removing cigarette smoke odour from soft furnishings, carpets, bedding and loss of income due to having to cancel following bookings due to odour in the property.

Property Descriptions Otway Getaways have made every effort to describe all accommodation accurately, we do not accept responsibility for any differences between the description and the actual property or if the accommodation that you choose does not ‘meet’ your style and/or requirements. To reduce the risk of this happening, please study the pictures and description of the property on the Otway Getaways website. Please contact us if you have any questions. We reserve the right to substitute accommodation if necessary as a very last resort.

Issues/Breakdowns/Problems during your stay ALL breakdowns, issues, breakages, anything "not working" needs to be communicated with Otway Getaways via phone call or SMS immediately (Tel: 0428 315 060) Emails sometimes are not checked regularly during the day. If we are not aware there is a issue then we cannot attempt to resolve it asap, no refunds/credits etc will be even considered if we are not notified until after departure. Otway Getaways will accept no responsibility for any inconvenience incurred due to machinery and utilities breakdown/power failures etc however our best endeavor to repair/replace will be undertaken during your stay. Due to the location of Apollo Bay repairs/replacements cannot be guaranteed on the same day/week.

Fire Safety and Awareness We recommend familiarising yourself with the area on arrival. We recommend you download the “Emergency Vic” App onto your mobile device. This is the best way to receive up to date notifications if there is any fire activity in the area. We reserve the right on “Code Red” days to cancel/amend your arrival for that day and give you either a Credit for that night value or move your arrival to the following day. Alternatively you can receive a credit for use at a future date, this only applies to rural properties and not properties located within town limits. Credits only apply for the Code Red day, not the entire length of stay unless your booking is for 2 nights only. No Refunds will not be given.

Mobile Coverage Telstra is the most reliable coverage throughout the Otways however it can still be limited in areas due the the terrain. There is often minimal coverage with other networks.
